The Baruch College Bearcats suffered a 77-52 road loss to #12-ranked FDU-Florham on Friday night in Madison, New Jersey.
The defeat drops the Bearcats to 8-5 overall, while the Devils stay unbeaten at 12-0.
The non-conference game was a tale of two different halves.
The Bearcats played an outstanding first half defensively to limit the Devils to 29.7 percent shooting on 11-of-37 from the field. They also won the battle of the boards (28-25) to trail 28-24 at halftime.
The second half was the opposite as the Devils shot 42 percent (14-for-33) and won the rebounding battle convincingly with a 31-16 advantage to create 23 second chance points en route to the home win.
Malika Rose Abdusalaam had her finest game of the season with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Iyana Abrams scored 10 points and dished out six assists in the backcourt. Alicea Ulmer totaled eight points and 12 rebounds.
Shalette Brown (13 rebounds) and Kyra Dayon (12 rebounds) scored 13 points each to lift the Devils from the Freedom Conference to the big win.
The Bearcats will return to action on Monday night at 6:00 pm against another strong opponent Richard Stockton College from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
