BOSTON, Mass. – Wentworth Institute of Technology's Rachael Camara matched a career-high with 19 points, including scoring five consecutive points to snap a 54-all tie with under four minutes remaining, to help the Wentworth women's basketball team snap a four-game losing streak with a 66-61 win over the University of Maine-Farmington.

UMaine-Farmington caps the fall semester with a 3-6 record with the loss, while Wentworth improves to 3-5.

Junior Lindsay Ranquist paced the Beavers with 19 points, while freshman Kennadi Grover tallied 14 points. Both Ranquist and Grover were 7-of-11 from the floor. Senior Holly Oliver turned a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and dished out six assists.

Kendra Kerr supported Camara's 19 points with 14 of her own for Wentworth, while Carly Rogers chipped in with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Camara and Kerr each logged five steals on the day.

UMaine-Farmington shot 44.9 percent from the field to the Leopards' 36.9 percent, and bested Wentworth on glass, 41 to 31, however the Beavers committed 26 turnovers leading to 21 Leopard points.

With the Leopards leading by seven, 54-47, with 7:00 left in the game, the Beavers went on a seven-point run and eventually tied the game on a Meghan Smith layup. Ranquist scored four points during the run, while Oliver added a layup.

Camara responded with a 3-pointer for Wentworth to break the tie, then quickly added a two-point jumper to give the Leopards a 59-54 lead. Buckets by Ranquist and Smith brought UMaine-Farmington back to within one of Wentworth, but Leopard freshman Megan McLaughlin canned a three to keep her team in front, 62-58, with 2:40 left on the clock.

Elizabeth Ferry and Ayla Allen combined to make three out of four free throws over the next minute to again cut the margin to a single point with 62 seconds left. The two teams traded turnovers, and an Allen foul put Camara on the line with 25 seconds remaining. She converted both foul shots, and two more free throws by Kerr in the waning seconds sealed the win for the Leopards.

UMaine-Farmington had trailed 33-24 at the half, after each team went on lengthy scoring runs at different points in the frame. The Beavers had been down by just two points, 24-22, following a Ranquist jumper with 4:47 left in the first half.

The Leopards are idle until January 2 when they host Plymouth State while the Beavers travel to Colby on January 4.
