ST. DAVIDS (PA) – Eastern University opened the second-half with a 14-4 run as the Eagles pulled away to an 85-65 victory over visiting Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference play.

Eastern improved to 4-4 overall and a perfect 2-0 in conference action while the Aggies fell to 2-3 and 1-3. Delaware Valley will start a string of eight consecutive non-conference games with a short trip to nearby Bryn Athyn College on Thursday, December 12. The Aggies' next Freedom contest is not until January 15 when they travel to Wilkes University.

Delaware Valley scored the first five points of the game, but the Eagles countered with six straight and never trailed again. They build the advantage up to as many as 14, 30-16, with seven minutes to go, but the Aggies rallied with a 9-1 spurt to make it a 31-25 contest. Eireann Anastasi had five of Delaware Valley's nine points.

Eastern went up by nine before a layup by Brittany Wood with nine seconds left made it a 37-30 contest at the intermission.

All-American center Meghan Nowak opened the second half by hitting her team's first eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Kaitlin Dougherty and Kaleigh Boreman added treys of their own as Eastern went up 17 in the first three minutes. The Aggies never got closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Nowak finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. Dougherty had 16 points and six assists while Boreman finished with 12 points and seven boards.

Anastasti and Brenna Coll had 16 points apiece to pace Delaware Valley. Coll also added seven rebounds. Wood had 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds while Shannon Barlow finished with eight points.
