Hot-shooting hope ends Tommie women's season

No. 2-ranked Hope (29-1) made nine 3-pointers, including 5-of-5 behind the arc in the second half, to rally past St. Thomas (24-6) in Friday night's third-round game in the NCAA Division III women's basketball playoffs in Whitewater, Wis.
Hope's Brittany Berry sank 5-of-6 treys and scored a game-high 20 points, and led a late 17-4 run that erased a 50-49 UST lead. Hope shot 57 percent on the game and had all five starters score nine or more points.
UST senior Kellie Ring scored 16 points in her final game, and Kelly Brandenburg had 12 points and five steals. The Toms, playing a top-five ranked team for the fourth time this season, had an 11-game wining streak halted. St. Thomas was outscored 27-9 from 3-point range.
