The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team defeated Medaille Wednesday night for the first time since 2004, snapping an 18-game losing streak to the Mavericks by a score of 67-59.

Pitt-Bradford had never celebrated a win over Medaille in AMCC play, a span of 17 games, until tonight. There was also the seven-point loss to the Mavericks in the 2010 AMCC championship game.

The first half was a tight affair as Allison Osborne's three-pointer at the 2:15 mark accounted for the halftime difference. Pitt-Bradford limited the Mavericks to one made three point shot in the opening stanza and led 31-28 at the break.

The Panthers would not surrender the lead in the second half. Twice Medaille cut the deficit to one and each time Pitt-Bradford answered.

Morgan Howe's jumper with 10:48 remaining trimmed the Panther advantage to 40-39. Osborne hit another three on the ensuing play, and after a missed triple by the Mavericks, Alicia Kimmel scored to extend the advantage to 45-39.

Medaille attempted one more charge, getting within three on three-pointer, but Kimmel scored again and Osborne hit her fourth triple moments later to make it 55-47. The Panthers went 6-8 from the line in the final 2:38 to secure the win.

Pitt-Bradford, which has won four straight for the first time all season, only shot 35 percent from the floor, but connected for seven threes and was 18-21 from the line. The women outrebounded Medaille by two despite giving up 18 offensive rebounds.

The Mavericks were held to 33 percent shooting and hit just 4-22 shots from long-range.

Kimmel led the way with 23 points and Osborne had 20. Madison Krebs finished with nine points and 11 rebounds and Abby Brate scored 11.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 14-9 on the season and 12-5 in the AMCC. The Panthers wrap up the regular season Saturday at home against Franciscan.
