Marymount Women's Basketball Wins CAC Opener

Dover, Del. - Marymount University's women's basketball team won its Capital Athletic Conference opener with an emphatic 76-44 road victory at Wesley on Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play.


Marymount seniors Tynisha Parks and Katelyn Fischer were dominant for the Saints all day. Parks posted a double-double with a game-high 24 points and 13 rebounds to go with four blocks while Fischer narrowly missed the feat with 14 points and nine assists.

Anna Lies added nine points for the Saints while Kievanna Lacey chipped in eight. Lacey hauled in a matching eight rebounds and Miranda Krott pulled down seven.

Marymount dominated the Wolverines (2-5) down low, outscoring it's host 48-22 in the paint. The Saints also out rebounded the Wolverines 47-38 and scored 16 points on fast breaks compared to just two for WC.

Jazmine Miller led Wesley with 19 points while Pez Scott added 11.
