BABSON PARK, Mass. – The nationally-ranked Babson College women's basketball team used another monster performance from senior captain Sarah Collins (Weymouth, Mass.) to defeat the visiting Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 54-39, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup at Staake Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

It was the 80th straight win against NEWMAC opponents for the Beavers (No. 22 D3hoops.com, No. 18 USA Today), who improved to 20-2 overall and 15-0 in league play. Collins finished with a season-high 27 points while matching her career-high with 22 rebounds for her 18th double-double of the season. The senior center also led all players with five blocked shots. First-year Linnett Graber (Roseland, N.J.) chipped in with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, as she and Collins combined to score 42 of the Beavers' 54 points.

After the two teams went into the locker room tied at 22-22, Babson opened the second half with a 22-6 run to take control of the contest. Collins scored eight points during the outburst, while Graber tacked on seven and first-year Megan Otto (Scituate, Mass.) scored four. That gave the Green and White a comfortable 44-28 advantage with 9:44 left to play, and the Engineers would get no closer than 12 the rest of the way.

MIT (9-12, 5-10 NEWMAC) was paced by first-year Sabrina Drammis (Hilton Head Island, S.C.), who finished with 13 points, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and a game-high seven steals.
