OSWEGO, N.Y. – Jenn Robbins made 4-of-5 shots, all from three-point range, and finished with a team-high 12 points to lead Oswego past Cortland, 51-35, in a SUNYAC contest.
Lauren Nunziato added nine points and Evelyn Josbena grabbed six rebounds for Oswego, which improved to 13-4 overall and 7-3 in the league.
Freshman Caysea Cohen led Cortland (6-10, 4-6 SUNYAC) with 12 points. Junior Grace Williamson pulled down a team-best six rebounds.
Oswego took a 10-0 lead five minutes into the game – a streak capped by two Nunziato three-pointers. The Lakers led 25-11 at halftime and held a 29-14 advantage with 17:29 left in the game.
Cortland used a Cohen three-pointer and an Erin Wolstenholme three-point play to close to within 29-20 with 15:28 remaining. The Lakers answered with a Robbins three-pointer and a Meagan Stoever layup to go back up by 14. Up 36-24 with 9:08 left, Oswego put the game away with a 13-0 run that featured two treys by Tayler Sorell.
Oswego shot 38 percent from the field and 39 percent (9-of-23) from three-point range. Cortland was held to 27 percent shooting overall and 25 percent (5-of-20) from the arc.
Cortland will host Brockport on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 6 p.m.
