COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore Madison Eschle scored 19 points in 20 minutes to lead the Pirates to an 80-49 win over Colorado College on Friday night.
With consistent play, Southwestern was able to build their lead to 24 points in the first half and led by 21 points at halftime, 44-23.
With a comforatble lead Southwestern easily controlled the second half and pushed their lead to 35 points with five minutes to play and never allowed the Tigers any hope.
Colorado was forced into 34 turnovers while the Pirates racked up 21 steals in the win. The Tigers were held to just 32.1% from the floor and 20% from three point range while SU was 39.7% from the field and 43.5% from long range.
Eschle led all scorers while shooting 5-9 form the floor and 3-4 from three point. Audrey Garcia added in 11 points. Jordan Owens posted a team high eight rebounds while Eschle added in six. Danielle Davis led the Tigers with 13 points.
The win improves the Pirates to 13-5 on the year and 7-1 in the SCAC while Colorado College falls to 3-16 overall and 3-6 in conference. SU remains on the road to face the University of Dallas on Sunday at noon.
