RICHMOND, Ind. – Junior forward Lindsey Dall scored 15 points to lead Franklin College to a 59-36 rout at Earlham in women's basketball action today.
The Grizzlies improved to 8-2 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and 14-3 overall with their eighth straight victory. FC remains a full game behind league leader Transylvania, which defeated Anderson at home this afternoon.
The Quakers dropped to 1-9 in the HCAC and 2-15.
The last time the two schools met – on Dec. 8 in Franklin - upset-minded Earlham rallied late in the second half to take defending league champion FC into overtime. In fact, the Grizzlies had to hit a 3-point basket at the end of regulation just to get to OT.
Early this afternoon, Franklin jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first 6-1/2 minutes and built a 24-point advantage at the intermission. The Grizzlies outshot the Quakers 54.2 to 12.5 percent in the first 20 minutes.
FC didn't shoot as effectively in the second period, but never let the hosts get close the remainder of the contest.
Dall led all scorers with her 15 points, hitting 6 of 8 field goal attempts.
Following Dall was junior guard Lindsay Rich, who tallied 12 points. Senior center Jess Prewett scored 7 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
Emily Sells was the lone Earlham player to score double-digit points with 10.
