WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Junior guard Kayla Adams scored a career-high 17 points in Guilford College's 70-57 road win over Salem College Thursday night.

The Quakers' Gabby Oglesby added her team-best fifth double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as the Quakers (13-3) won their fifth straight game and for the ninth time in 10 outings.

Guilford led from start to finish, although the first half was tight before Adams sparked a 9-2 run before intermission. Adams knocked down a pair of three-pointers and assisted on Lila Scott's three-point play, which lifted the Quakers into a 34-26 lead at the break. Adams finished with 11 points at the break.

Jasmine Shabazz tried to rally the hosts with 17 of her game-high 21 points in the second stanza, but Salem (8-7) managed just 31.6% shooting from the floor. Guilford connected on 18-of-19 free throws and maintained a double-digit lead for all but 20 seconds of the second half. The Quakers shot 21-of-22 from the charity stripe, which set a new school standard for team free-throw percentage with more than 15 free throws.

Freshman Lila Scott added a career-high 12 points for Guilford. She and Adams helped the Quakers hold a 38-20 edge in bench scoring.
