GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Brittany Atwater paced the Quakers with game-high 15 points in Guilford's 77-53 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Randolph College Tuesday.
Morgan King's jumper five minutes into the game put Guilford (10-3, 4-1 ODAC) on top and they never looked back. The Quakers shot 45.7% in the first half and the Wildcats, 43.5%. Guilford's defense held Randolph to only 26 points in the first 20 minutes. After leading by 16 at the half, the Wildcats could not dig their way out. Randolph shot 25.9% in the second half, 21% worse than the Quakers.
Kayla Adams added 14 points off the bench for Guilford. Brittany Drew scored 11 points and Jaclyn Nucci had nine. Adams and Gabby Oglesby contributed four assists apiece. On the other end of the court, Atwater and Jaclyn Nucci played solid defense, each turning up four steals. Morgan King anchored Guilford's defense by snagging game-high eight rebounds.
Bonnie Bishop led the Wildcats (3-9, 1-4 ODAC) with 11 points off the bench in 13 minutes, going five-for-six from the line. Jensen Hoover had team-high six rebounds. Brianna Lowry dished out four assists and added six points in the effort.
The Quakers next play home Saturday, Jan. 12 at 2:00 p.m. against conference newcomer Shenandoah University in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
