La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team fell 57-45 to UW-Oshkosh Saturday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles drop to 7-7 overall and 1-4 in the WIAC while the TItans improve to 12-2 overall and 4-1 in the league. UW-Oshkosh, receiving votes on this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, earned its eight straight win overall. The Titans also snapped a 13-game losing streak to the Eagles.

UW-L led 8-7 with 13:07 remaining in the first half when Lexi Masiak hit a jumper and Trisha Van Dusseldorp a three-pointer to give the Eagles a 13-7 advantage. UW-L later led 15-9 when UW-Oshkosh used a 8-0 run to lead 17-15 with 4:13 left in the half.

The Eagles led 22-19 with 1:29 remaining after a pair of Erin Levenhagen free throws, but the Titans' Katie Kitzke tied the contest at 22-22 with a three-point field goal with :44 left. The game remained tied at 22-22 at halftime.

UW-Oshkosh led 33-29 with 12:28 left in the game after a Katelyn Kuehl jumper, but UW-L's Briana Radowicz cut the lead to 33-32 with a three-pointer. Kitzke followed with a three-pointer of her own to make it 36-32 with 11:46 remaining. Levenhagen hit four straight free throws to force a 36-36 tie and Maggi Bishop gave the Eagles a two-point lead with a layup with 9:45 left to make it 38-36. The Titans then went on a 16-2 run to lead 52-40.

UW-L could get no closer than nine points the rest of the game. 

Bishop and Levenhagen led UW-L with 12 points each. Bishop added six rebounds and two blocks while Levenhagen had seven rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals. 

UW-L shot 29.8% from the field, including 26.3% (five-of-19) from three-point range. The Eagles shot 75.0% (12-of-16) at the line.

Megan Wenig led UW-Oshkosh with 18 points while Kitzke had 14. Kuehl finished with a game-high 11 rebounds. 

UW-Oshkosh shot 38.3% from the field, including 40.0% (four-of-10) from three-point range. The Titans shot 68.0% (17-of-25) at the line.

UW-L returns to action Wednesday, January 9 at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
