Buffalo State handed the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team its worst defeat of the season Wednesday, blitzing the Panthers 83-58 in their final non-conference game of the season.

The 83 points surrendered by Pitt-Bradford were a season-high and it marked the first time all year an opponent had scored more than 70 points.

Tied at nine in the opening minutes, the Bengals rattled off 12 straight points to take a 21-9 lead and the Panthers would never recover. They trailed 34-24 at the break and Buffalo State scored the first seven points of the second half to squash any chance of a comeback. The Bengals led by as much as 27 before the final horn sounded.

Buffalo State dominated inside, outscoring the Panthers 46-20 in the paint and holding a 44-36 advantage on the boards. Pitt-Bradford was limited to 34 percent shooting and committed 17 turnovers. The Bengals shot 50 percent from the floor, including hitting 20-36 shots in the second half, and scored 18 points off turnovers.

Alicia Kimmel finished with a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds, and Geena Sneeringer added 10 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Melanie Yanetsko and Allison Osborne were also in double-figures with 10 points apiece.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 4-5 on the season and resumes AMCC play Saturday at defending champion La Roche.
