Baruch Routs Allegheny (74-47), Stay Perfect With 9-0 Record

The Baruch College Bearcats overcame a slow start to defeat the Gators of Allegheny College, 74-47, in a non-conference contest on Friday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats used solid defense to force 32 turnovers and won the battle in the paint with a 40-18 advantage to defeat the Gators (5-5) from the North Coast Atlantic Conference (NCAC).

The Bearcats led 13-12 early, but exploded in the final 10 minutes of the opening half with a game-busting 22-6 run to lead 35-18 at halftime. They never let up in the second half and led by as much as 30 points to remain undefeated at 9-0.


Sheridan Taylor (12 rebounds, 4 assists) and Jessica Duleba(9 rebounds, 4 steals) led the way in the victory with 15 points each. Francess Henryfinished a solid all-around effort with 14 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Alicea Ulmerhad a successful season debut with seven points and eight rebounds. Imani Davidsoncontributed six points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Daryl Ford led the visitors from the Pittsburgh region with 17 points (7-9 FT) and nine rebounds.

The women's basketball team will continue their home schedule on Sunday, December 30, as they will host the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.

Tip off in the ARC Arena against a non-conference opponent from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
