Women's Basketball Rolls To 57-25 Win Over York

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team led by as much as 40 point over visiting York on Thursday evening, en route to a 57-25 victory in front of the West Quad Center crowd.  Brooklyn improves to 6-2, 1-1 in CUNYAC play while York falls to 0-7, 0-2.

York jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead on Brooklyn before the Bulldogs used a 42-9 run to put them up 29 points at the break.  Vanessa D'Ambrosi led the charge with 12 points, including a perfect 2-2 from behind the arc.

Second half started as the first ended, as Brooklyn started the period on an 11-0 run, to give them their biggest lead of the evening at 53-13. 

D'Ambrosi led Brooklyn with 14 points, four assists and five boards, while Brittany Bowen chipped in with 11 points in limited play.  

Nicole Francomano had a game-high seven steals to go along with six points and four assists, while all 15 Bulldogs saw action on the evening. 

Ishonda McFarland led York with 15 points. 

"I thought that we came out and took care of business tonight to earn our first conference victory," said Head Coach Alex Lang.  "We hope to keep this current win streak going."

That win streak is up to two after the Bulldogs previous win streak was snapped on Saturday.  Brooklyn will look toward another conference opponent as they travel to Medgar Evers on Tuesday.
