Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's basketball team picked up a 70-57 victory over in-state rival Randolph-Macon in non-conference action on Thursday night.  The Saints improve to 5-3 on the season.

Four Saints scored in double-figures led by senior captain Katelyn Fischer with a game-high 23 points.  Fellow senior Tynisha Parks added 14 while freshmen Kievanna Lacey and Anna Lies chipped in 13 and 12, respectively.

Fischer put together yet another solid all-around game.  She added six assists to go with four rebounds and four steals while shooting 8-for-14 from the floor and 3-for-4 from three-point range.

Freshman Miranda Krott led all players with eight rebounds while added four assists and three blocked shots.  Park grabbed seven blocks as well.

Taking advantage of multiple Yellow Jackets (1-7) miscues, Marymount scored 31 points off of 23 Randolph-Macon turnovers.  The Saints also outscored their guests 36-14 in the paint and outrebounded R-MC 37-28.

Marymount never trailed in the game.  The Saints led by as many as 12 in the opening frame before settling for a 35-27 advantage going into halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Saints quickly regained their double-digit lead and put together a 21-9 run over the first 10 minutes of the second half to go up 20.  The Yellow Jackets would battle back, eventually cutting the deficit to just right points at 63-55 with 2:24 but couldn't get any closer as the Saints closed out the game at the free throw line.

Hannah Livermon led Randolph-Macon with 17 points while Katie Anderson added 14.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Saturday as it travels to face Capital Athletic Conference foe St. Mary's (Md.).
