Guilford Women Win at Washington and Lee for First ODAC Victory

LEXINGTON, Va. – Gabby Oglesby scored 15 points in Guilford College's 60-45 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win at Washington and Lee University Saturday.

The Quakers (5-2, 1-1 ODAC) closed the first half on a 16-0 run to take a 34-20 halftime lead. Freshman Lila Scott scored all of her career-high eight points during the decisive spurt. Oglesby hit six-of-seven shots from the floor for 12 first-half points and the Quakers held the host Generals (2-4, 1-1 ODAC) to nine-of-30 (30%) shooting in the opening frame.

Washington and Lee's Katy Wilson scored 10 of her game-high 16 points in the second half, but the Generals drew no closer than 11 in the second half. Wilson also had a game-best 10 rebounds.

Guilford held Washington and Lee to less than 33 percent shooting for the game and enjoyed a 47-31 edge in rebounds. The Quakers outscored the Generals, 38-20, in the paint and scored 16 points off 12 offensive rebounds. Guilford's Morgan King scored nine points and Brittany Atwater added five points, a team-high nine rebounds and four assists.

Guilford hosts William Peace University Wednesday (12/5) at 5:30 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
