OSWEGO, N.Y. – Meagan Stover (Sr., Lake George, N.Y.) and Lauren Nunziato (Jr., West Sand Lake, N.Y.) both tallied 16 points as the Oswego State women's basketball team (5-0, 2-0 SUNYAC) pulled away early in a 76-44 win over Potsdam (1-6, 0-2 SUNYAC) on Saturday afternoon.

Stover was efficient in all parts of the game, tallying seven steals, five rebounds and four assists to go along with her 16 points. She also made all six shots she attempted in the first half. Nunziato got it done from deep, as she went 3-for-5 from downtown.

Stover was effective early, scoring eight of the Lakers' first 12 points in a 12-2 run to open the game. A three-pointer by freshman Tayler Sorell (Hannibal, N.Y.) capped the run at 22-4 to begin the contest.

From there, Oswego State showed off its balanced attack. Eleven Lakers scored in the game, as they put up a season-high 76 points. It wasn't all offense though, as Oswego State forced 14 Potsdam turnovers.

Stover ended the half with a layup to give the Lakers a convincing 39-16 lead at the break. The second half was more of the same, as the Bears were never able to get the deficit under 20.

Katy Briedis led Potsdam with 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting, but the Bears only shot 32 percent in the game as a team.

The Lakers are back in action on Tuesday, as they travel to Brockport to face the Golden Eagles at 6 p.m.
