#18 Lebanon Valley Team Beats Alvernia, 65-48

READING, Pa. - #18 Lebanon Valley won its ninth game in a row with a 65-48 showing at Alvernia Saturday afternoon.

Caitlin Bach led the charge with 17 points and eight rebounds on the day. Renee Fritz and Caitlin Murphy were also standouts on offense with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

LVC got out to a 10-3 start with five different players contributing. The Dutchmen closed out the first half with a 31-19 lead capped by a three-pointer by Murphy and a pair of baskets by Kiely Chaklos.

With a lead that fluctuated between nine and 16 points, the Dutchmen forced the Crusaders to begin fouling around the three-minute mark. LVC padded its lead with five successful free throws in the final stretch, including four from Murphy.

The Dutchmen forced just four of Alvernia's seven turnovers, but created scoring opportunities by outrebounding the Crusaders 44-36. Chaklos led the team in boards with 11--10 on defense.

LVC clinched its fifth consecutive Commonwealth Conference playoff appearance on Wednesday with a win over Messiah. They remain undefeated in conference games and are playing for seeding and a home-court advantage.

Come out to the LVC Gymnasium Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. for the team's fifth annual Pink Game against Elizabethtown. Proceeds from the game will be donated to the American Cancer Society of Lebanon and the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.
