Holly Schiedermayer (Sr., Waupaca, Wis.) made her first nine shots, all in the first half, to lead Macalester to a 64-46 win over Carleton at the Leonard Center. She finished with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Maggie Wood (Sr., Oregon, Wis. / Madison Edgewood) contributed 10 points, five assists and five steals, and Jessica Rene (Sr., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) scored 11 points.
Kyanna Jones (Jr., Brooklyn Park, Minn. / Osseo) provided the Scots with eight points and nine rebounds, and Shannon Rene (Jr., Eau Claire, Wis. / Memorial) handed out five assists.
The Scots improve to 9-11 on the season, 7-10 in the MIAC, while Carleton drops to 2-18 overall and 1-15 in conference play.
Macalester shot 47% for the night, compared to 33% for the Knights.
Carleton was led by Jessa Youso with 11 points off the bench.
The Scots took early command with a 10-2 start and led 26-19 at halftime as Schiedermayer had 18 points to lead the way. After Carleton netted the first basket of the second period, Macalester took off with a big 18-1 rally to take control of the game with a 44-22 lead midway through the half.
Macalester travels to Winona Saturday (Feb. 4) for an MIAC game with St. Mary's.
