Lady Choctaws Take Revenge on LeTourneau, 52-49

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College women's basketball team won its rematch against LeTourneau, 52-49, Thursday night at A.E. Wood Coliseum after losing to the Lady Jackets one week ago.

In the first half, LeTourneau (11-9, 7-9 ASC) shot 55% (11-20) from the floor that included a 10 point lead with just over 12 minutes remaining.  MC shot only 35.7% (10-28) from the floor, but battled back to tie the game at 26-26 at the break.

The Lady Choctaws (12-7, 10-5 ASC) closed the door once again on its opponents in the second half only allowing LeTourneau to shoot 25.8% (8-31). 

However, the key for the Lady Choctaws in the second half was its 22 points it produced off the bench.

Ebony Williams led MC with 13 points and seven boards.  Elizabeth Brooks and Valeri Stewart each added nine points.

Sharday Cotton recorded a double-double for LeTourneau scoring 16 points and pulling 13 rebounds, while LaQueda Davis added 13 points of her own.

The Lady Choctaws return to action Saturday afternoon to play Texas-Tyler.  Tip-off for Saturday is set for 1:00 p.m. in the "Golden Dome."
