SCRANTON, Pa. (January 13, 2012) – Senior Danielle Barber (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Twp.) scored eight points, passing Danielle Baraty for sole possession of sixth place on Drew's all-time scoring list. Drew (4-9, 1-3 Landmark) went on to lose 61-44 to Scranton (9-6, 4-0 Landmark) on the road earlier this evening.

Senior Victoria Ault (Middletown, N.J./Mater Dei) led the Rangers with nine points and added five rebounds. Classmate Katherine Luby (Old Saybrook, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) equaled Barber with eight points and also pulled down five boards.

The duo of Alison Sweeney and Erin Boggan proved to be too much for the Ranger defense. Sweeny knocked down four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points. Boggan was 4-of-9 from the floor and had 10 points for the first place Royals.

The Royals led the entire way and opened the game up with a 16-4 run. The Rangers chipped away at the double digit lead over the final 10 minutes of the first half thanks to two long balls from Barber and another from Luby late in the frame. A Christina Hiltunen layup with nine seconds remaining in the half gave the Royals a 30-20 advantage at break.

The second half was all Royals as the Ranger offense sputtered out of the gate. Scranton scored 13 of the first 15 points of the second half and before you knew it, Drew was down by 20 points. The Rangers turned the ball over a season-high 15 times and failed to make a 3-point field goal in the second half of play.

The loss for the Rangers is the sixth in a row as the Rangers will look to halt that streak tomorrow against Moravian. The Greyhounds have won every matchup against the Rangers since joining the conference back in 2007. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. tomorrow in Johnston Hall.
