Sophomore guard Alison Sweeney (Wall, N.J./St. Rose) scored a game-high 20 points as The University of Scranton women's basketball team posted its fourth straight victory, a 61-44 win over Drew University in the Long Center on Friday evening.

Sweeney connected on seven of 13 from the field, including four of eight from 3-point range as the Lady Royals improved to 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the Landmark Conference. Junior forward Erin Boggan (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) added 10 points and five rebounds, senior guard Sidney Jaques (Rosemont, N.J./Hunterdon Central) had eight points and freshman guard Lindsay Fluehr (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy) had eight assists.

The victory keeps Scranton tied for first place in the Landmark Conference with Juniata.

Scranton pulled away from a 30-20 halftime lead by opening the second half with a 13-2 run as Sweeney scored 10 points. Drew never got closer than 12 the rest of the way.

Scranton enjoyed a 44-31 advantage in rebounding as junior forward Tayler Pallotta (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) led the effort with seven boards. She also had two steals and a block to go along with five points.

Sweeney's 20 points marked the first time she reached that plateau since scoring 31 in an 82-77 victory over Marywood on Nov. 30 in the Long Center.

The victory on Friday evening kept Scranton undefeated at 64-0 in the all-time series against Drew, which dates back to Jan. 25, 1977. The Lady Royals kept that perfect mark intact by shooting 39.6 percent (21-for-53) from the field while holding Drew to just 30.9 percent (17-for-55) shooting.

The Rangers (4-9, 1-3 Landmark) were led by nine points from senior forward Victoria Ault (Middletown, N.J./Mater Dei).

Scranton returns to action Saturday when Merchant Marine Academy comes to the Long Center for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
