NEW YORK, NY (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University and Lehman College were mired in a two-point game at halftime before the Lightning opened the second half on a 15-3 run, outscoring NJCU in the second half, 40-23, en route to a 71-52 victory over the Gothic Knights in a non-conference women's basketball game played on a neutral court at Baruch College.

Lehman moved above .500 with the win (11-10) while NJCU (3-17) dropped its 12th straight game. Lehman, which outscored NJCU in the paint, 40-22, leads the series, 4-3.

Trailing only 31-29 at halftime, NJCU's inability to piece together consecutive successful halves of basketball loomed large in the second period as the Knights shot just 15.2 percent (5-33), allowing the Lightning to gain the advantage to take control of the contest.

Dominating the second half was senior guard Amanda De La Cruz (New York, NY), who compiled the rare triple-double in the win, finishing with 16 points (7-15 FG), 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in 38 minutes. She had 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the second half.
