A late 9-0 run helped propel visiting Lyndon State College past Norwich University 55-52 Jan. 20 at Andrew Gymnasium. Donna Lawson had a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Hornets in the win.
Trailing 49-42 with 4:30 to go Lyndon (6-9) sandwiched three-pointers by Naomi White and Chelsea Watson around a Jasmin Amaral layup to take its first lead since the opening half. Danielle LaFont (11 points) and Watson (10 points) rounded out the top scorers for LSC.
Norwich (6-12) was led by freshman guard Aliah Curry's (Windsor, Mass.) 18 points and eight rebounds. The scoring effort was Curry's 13th straight in double figures. Junior forward Jessalyn Sweeney (Stanfordville, N.Y.) had 13 points for the Cadets to go along with seven boards.
NU continues a three-game home stand Thursday, Jan. 26, when they host conference foe Anna Maria. The game is scheduled to tipoff at 5:30 p.m. with a men's game against Johnson and Wales to follow.
