Beavers Tussle with Alverno

Alverno placed seven different players in double figures in their victory on Thursday afternoon. The Alverno offense in the first half was clicking both inside and outside in building a 55-18 edge at intermission.

The Inferno went 10-for-19 (52.6 percent) from behind the arc in the opening session. Alverno grabbed 15 offensive rebounds in the first frame to help them post a 17-0 advantage in second chance points.

The Inferno continued to build on their lead with a solid shooting effort in the final 20 minutes. Alverno converted on 24 of their 47 (51.1 percent) in the second frame in taking the victory.

Marlyn Moore was Caltech's top scorer for the second straight game with a 14-point performance. Teri Juarez chipped in 12 points while grabbing a team best seven rebounds.

 The duo of Hannah Galstad and Kristen Speerschneider each posted a team best 16 points to pace the Alverno offense. Jamie Hoernke added a double-double with a 13-point, 11-rebound effort.
