Sewanee, Tennessee - Trinity's women's basketball team used a strong second half to earn an 87-74 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road win over Sewanee: University of the South on Friday night.

Trinity (7-9, 5-2 SCAC) overcame a seven-point deficit (46-39) and a 31% shooting performance in the first half to win the team's fifth consecutive conference game.

The Tigers opened the second half on an 11-2 run that put them out in front (50-48) for the first time since the 14-minute mark in the first half.  Trinity shot better than 43% in the second half, holding Sewanee to just 10 field goals and 29% shooting in the final 20 minutes.

In the first half, it was actually Trinity that controlled the early action, jumping out to an 8-2 lead.  Sewanee came back to tie it a few minutes later, though, then used a 10-0 run to go up by as many as 15 in the opening period.

Trinity was led by Murphy Burns and Hannah Coley.  Burns scored a season-best 32 points, hitting 10-29 from the field overall, and 6-13 from three-point range.

Coley narrowly missed a triple-double, collecting 10 rebounds and eight assists to go with her 24 points in the game.  Coley led the Tigers in rebounds, assists, and in steals with a total of four.  Coley hit 6-12 from three-point range, as well as 9-20 overall from the field.

Heather Baier led Sewanee with 11 points in the game, while Claire Eliott finished with 10 points.  Both players also had three assists.  Alex Ginsburg finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Trinity will continue its SCAC road weekend with a Saturday evening game at Centre College, in Danville, Kentucky.
