NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Nationally ranked Mount Union (#9 USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches/#10 D3hoops.com poll) never trailed in an 81-56 rout of Muskingum Wednesday in an Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball game in New Concord.
Senior guard Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) was 7-of-7 from three-point range and 9-of-10 from the floor overall as she scored a game-high 25 points along with a team-best five rebounds to lead Mount Union to its 10th straight win.
The Purple Raiders now sit at 15-1 overall and finish the first half of the conference play in first place at 8-1, one game ahead of Ohio Northern and Otterbein. Otterbein will be the next opponent Saturday at 3 pm at Mount Union and the Cardinals handed the Raiders their only loss of the season.
Mount Union also got 17 points from junior point guard Rosa LaMattina(Westlake/Westlake) while senior guard Erin Schmidt (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and freshman center Aly Daniel (Williard/Williard) each had 11.
Hannah Nelson had 24 points and nine rebounds to pace Muskingum.
