NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Bianca Brown and Lianna Carrero both scored 19 points to help the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team to a 66-63 Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over Norwich University Jan. 18 at Andrews Gymnasium. Lindsay Karle added 18 points for the Falcons who improve to 9-6 overall and 2-3 in the GNAC.
With the loss Norwich falls to 1-4 in GNAC play and 6-10 overall having dropped the past two games by a combined four points.
Freshman guard Aliah Curry (Windsor, Mass.) led the Cadets with 17 points, her tenth straight game in double figures. Freshman guard Kelsey Lotti (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and senior forward Jocelyn Sweeney (Contoocook, N.H.) chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively. Junior forward Jessalyn Sweeney (Stanfordville, N.Y.) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for NU while sophomore guard Kristen Brown (Williamstown, Vt.) dished out a game-high five assists.
Norwich is next in action Saturday, Jan. 21, when they travel to take on Suffolk in another GNAC matchup. That game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
