Women’s Basketball Wins Big at Medgar Evers

Three players reached double-figures and all but one player got on the score sheet for the Cardinals.  Leading the way for York was Shadae Rice who finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and five steals.  Vania St. Louis added ten points and nine boards and Shadea Green also added ten points, while Lateefah Salters finished with nine.  Stayce Kay Muirhead once again chipped in on the glass, pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds, while adding three steals.

The game was never in doubt as the Cardinals scored the game's first 12 points.  8:30 into the game, the score was already 22-3 in favor of York.   By halftime, York held a 41-13 advantage.

It was more of the same in the second half, as the Cardinals continued to force turnovers, which they turned into 46 points. 

The lone bright spot for Medgar Evers was Chantal Biscette who accounted for nearly all of the Cougars' offense, scoring 19 points and grabbing 23 rebounds. 

York improves to 1-12, 1-2 in the CUNYAC, while Medgar falls to 2-11, 0-3 in CUNYAC play.  York will host John Jay College on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
