THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - After scoring 16 unanswered points to start Saturday's home game the Cal Lutheran women's basketball team cruised to a 71-45 win over Pomona-Pitzer. All 13 players on the active Regals roster scored in the victory.

Five different players contributed to the scoring column during the game opening 16-0 scoring run. Taylor Autry knocked down back-to-back baskets to spearhead the effort and finished with a career-high eight points.
After the Regals took an early 16-0 lead they led by no less than 13 points the rest of the way. Jazmyne Porter posted team-highs of 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win. She led a CLU reserve group that outscored the entire Sagehens roster 46-45.
Hayley Jensen finished with career-highs of 12 points and six assists in 22 minutes off the bench. She was one of 11 different Regals who scored in the first half.

In contrast only three Sagehens scored over the opening 20 minutes. Alexis Sones scored 12 of her team's 18 first half points and finished with a game-high 22 on 5-of-19 shooting from the floor. Asha Gipson was the next highest scorer with seven in the loss.
Cal Lutheran's team rebounding and defensive presence proved to play a major factor in Saturday's decision. The Regals controlled the glass doubling up the Sagehens 48-24 including an 18-9 advantage on the offensive glass. Pomona-Pitzer shot just 4-of-23 from the floor in the first half and finished the night shooting at a 24 percent clip.
Cal Lutheran (8-4, 2-0 SCIAC) will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (8-5, 2-0 SCIAC) on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
