BETHLEHEM (PA) – Delaware Valley College trailed for a total of just 17 seconds in the game as the Aggies cruised to a 59-24 victory over Medgar Evers College in the consolation game of the 11th annual Starters Moravian Winter Classic.

The win improved Delaware Valley to 7-4 on the season. The Aggies will host Rosemont College on Thursday, January 5 (7:00 p.m.) before returning to Freedom Conference action next Wednesday, January 11 (6:00 p.m.) with a trip to Wilkes University.

Delaware Valley scored the opening bucket just seven seconds in before the Cougars (2-9) notched the next three points for a brief lead. It was all Aggies after that, beginning with an 11-0 run. Delaware Valley also used an 11-0 run late in the half and it eventually took a 35-10 lead into the break.

The second half saw Delaware Valley build its advantage to as many as 37. The team was strong defensively throughout as it held Medgar Evers to 24.3 percent shooting from the field and forced 34 turnovers.

Shannon Barlow followed her seven-point, 13-rebound performance from Monday with six points, six rebounds and five steals. The freshman forward/center was named to the all-tournament team. Sarah Delcasale led the way with 13 points and also added four assists and four steals. Emily Soper finished with 12 points and six rebounds while Brenna Coll added nine points and four boards. Melissa Weill contributed seven points and five rebounds while Amanda Turowski finished with four points and career-highs of eight assists and five steals.

Chantal Biscette had 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead Medgar Evers.
