Hamilton College limited Clark University to 15.5 percent shooting, and the Continentals won 44-32 in the Land of Magic Classic at Embry-Riddle University's ICI Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Dec. 28.
Hamilton (5-4 overall) has won its last three games. The Continentals held all three of those opponents to fewer than 40 points. Hamilton ended Clark's win streak at seven games.
Madie Harlem '13 recorded game highs of 15 points and four steals, and added eight rebounds for the Continentals. Olivia Pimm '14 tied a season high with 12 points and pulled down eight boards. Kim Goidell '13 led all players with a career-high 14 rebounds, and chipped in eight points and three steals.
Clark (7-3) was led by Emily Reilly, who scored eight points, grabbed nine rebounds and made two steals.
Hamilton led 19-11 at the half. Clark shot just 10.3 percent from the field, and missed all 10 of its 3-point attempts. The Continentals allowed nine made field goals the entire game, and their 11 steals helped force 18 Clark turnovers. Hamilton owned a 54-47 rebounding advantage, and shot 23 percent from the floor.
The Continentals take on Montclair State University in another Land of Magic Classic contest at Embry-Riddle on Friday, Dec. 30. Hamilton is allowing just 41.3 points per game in nine games.
