Lightning Falls to 0-3 Following 66-58 Loss to NYU Poly

NEWARK, N.J. - Catherine Thompson's 20 points led four players in double figures as Polytechnic Institute of New York University salvaged the consolation game of the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic by defeating the Lehman women's basketball team 66-58 on Saturday afternoon.

Joining Thompson in double figures were Margaux Pickell (16 points), who also added a game-high 19 rebounds, Shelby Bruns (12 points) and Tabitha Larsen (12 points).

Seniors Amanda De La Cruz and Leslie Mencia combined for 32 points for the Lightning, but did it on 13-for-48 shooting.  For the game the Lightning shot 29 percent from the floor.

Junior Jaleesa Gordon posted her best game of the season, totalling 13 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots in 31 minutes of action.  Gordon's standout effort was enough for her to be selected to the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team.

Junior Shatasia Little fell two points shy of her third straight double-double, finishing with eight points and 13 rebounds.

Lehman is back in action on Tuesday evening when it travels to Patchogue, New York to battle St. Joseph's College at 7 p.m.
