FARMINGDALE, NY - The Hunter College women's basketball suffered a tough road loss, dropping a 78-50 decision at SUNY-Old Westbury.
The loss drops the Hawks to 3-5 so far in the 2011-12 campaign while the Panthers improve to 3-4 with their victory.
Hunter was led by Megan McKenna who finished the night with 12 points and four rebounds. Nicole Lenard added 11 points and for rebounds, while Marta Banach pulled in a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Hawks trailed 41-19 at halftime and simply could not overcome the deficit as the Panthers outscored them 37-31 following the break.
Hunter struggled from the field, shooting just 28 percent from the floor and just under 19 percent from three-point range. The Hawks managed just 61 percent from the free-throw line.
Hunter (3-5, 2-0 CUNYAC) returns to action on Tuesday, December 13th when they host Rutgers-Newark at the Hunter Sportsplex at 5:00pm.
