NORTHFIELD, VT. – Another quick started helped Norwich University continue its recent strong run Dec. 10.

The Cadets, going to 4-6 by winning their fourth game in the last six, jumped out to a 15-1 lead on visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology en route to a 68-45 win. The Leopards (0-8) did rally back on the heels of a 9-0 run but NU closed the first half by scoring 20 of the final 29 first half points and didn't look back.

Freshman guard Aliah Curry (Windsor, Mass.) led all scorers with 29 points. She did so behind nine-of-16 field goal shooting and a four-of-nine effort from outside the arc. Curry was also nearly perfect at the charity stripe going seven-of-eight. Senior guard Karissa Doyon (Beecher Falls, Vt.) added 14 pts., nine rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Fellow senior Jocelyn Fasulo (Contoocock, N.H.) made life tough inside the post on the Maroon and Gold's guests with seven blocked shots.

Norwich concludes its pre-Christmas schedule with a 7 p.m. tip-off at Castleton State Tuesday, Dec. 13. The Cadets return to Andrews Gymnasium, where they sport a 3-3 record, Saturday, Jan. 7, when Mount Ida visits for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader.
