MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College lost a Northern Athletics Conference game, 64-50, tonight to the visiting Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in Reiman Gymnasium.

Inferno senior forward Hanna Galstad (Holmen, Wis.) made a layup with 11:48 remaining to cut the Falcons' lead to 41-38, but a 12-2 run by the visitors over the next 6 minutes would put the game out of reach for the Inferno (2-6, 0-4 NAC), who lost their fourth-straight game.

After a back-and-forth first half that saw nine lead changes, the Falcons (4-2, 4-0) closed out the period with a 32-26 lead. Concordia shot 47 percent from the floor in the half, while the Inferno shot just 35 percent yet held a slight advantage (18-17) on the glass.

The second half remained tight until the Falcons' run, which included a trio of 3-pointers by guard Tiffany Hendrickson (Ingleside, Ill.), who finished the night with 14 points. Teammate Kendal Kerns (Stoughton, Wis.) added a game-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting for the Falcons, who won their fourth-straight contest.

The Inferno also were paced by a pair of double-digit scorers as Galstad led the team with 12 points, and sophomore guard Kristen Speerschneider (New Franken, Wis./Luxemburg-Casco) chipped in 10.

Inferno forward Jamie Hoernke (Mt. Horeb, Wis.) snagged 12 rebounds to lead all players and was just short of a double-double with nine points.

Both squads struggled from the foul line, as the Falcons were just 9-of-16 (56.3%) and the Inferno managed slightly better at 13-of-23 (56.5%). The Inferno maintained the edge on the boards as well, 40-36, but committed 19 turnovers to the Falcons nine.

The Inferno, still searching for their first conference win of the season, hosts the Maranatha Baptist Crusaders on Thursday, who pulled out their first NAC win of the season with a one-point victory over Marian University tonight.
