FOREST GROVE – A 15-minute long power outage in the first half did little to knock some electric shooting out of Colin Wester (Jr., Sherwood, Ore.) Tuesday as the junior guard led the Boxers to a 65-37 rout of Northwest Christian Tuesday in men's basketball action at the Stoller Center.

Wester finished with a game-high 22 points to lead the Boxers to a 2-0 start, connecting on 7 of 10 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers, and 6 of 8 from the free throw line.  Along the way, Wester added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The game was punctuated by a 15-minute delay at the 7:46 mark of the first half as the power in the Stoller Center went out due to gusty winds in the area.  Ironically, the outage came just as the teams were going into the second media timeout of the period.

Charles Mosley (Jr., Hillsboro, Ore.) added 12 points in the victory to go along with nine rebounds, three assists and a steal.  The pair led an impressive night that saw the Boxers connect on 58.1 percent from the field (25-43) and 15 of 20 shots taken in the second half.

Brody McGowan came off the bench to lead the Beacons (2-4) with 12 points on 6 of 8 from the field.  Jordan Buhler added six points.  Northwest Christian shot 26.5 percent (13-49) from the field and just 1 of 18 from three-point range.  Pacific out-rebounded the Beacons 35-27.  The 37 points scored by the Beacons set a record for fewest points scored in program history.

Pacific never trailed in the contest, but it wasn't until that ominous power outage that the Boxers would start pulling away.  The lead was 14-9 at the 7:27 mark when David Berney (Jr., Eugene, Ore.), playing against his former team, sparked a 10-2 run that Wester punctuated with a three-pointer that put the Boxers up 24-11 with 4:08 to go.  The Beacons narrowed the advantage to nine on his lay-in with 55 seconds left and the Boxers went into halftime with a 26-17 lead.

The Boxers turned red hot in the second half, connecting on 15 of 20 from the field while limiting the Beacons to just five points over the first 12 minutes of the stanza.  A Mosley lay-in at the 16:47 mark stretched the lead to 15 points.  Leland Devlin (Fr., Phoenix. Ariz.) hit a jumper that put the Boxers up 42-21 with 12:35 left and Berney canned two free throws to end the 21-5 run at 47-22 with 9:41 to go.

Northwest Christian came no closer than 23 points the rest of the game, with the Boxers building their biggest lead of 28 points at the end on a Mitch Wettig (Fr., Bend, Ore.) lay-in with a minute left.

The Boxers return to action on Saturday when they host NAIA Division II independent Walla Walla at the Stoller Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.  Northwest Christian returns home to host NCAA Division II St. Martin's on Friday.
