PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Castleton State College women's basketball team placed four players in double-figures as the Spartans downed Plymouth State University 62-49 in non-league women's basketball action Tuesday evening at Foley Gymnasium.

Tarryn Bolognani (Whittingham, Vt.) and Alyssa Leonard (Amherst, Mass.) each scored a game-high 15 while Chrisitne Jaques (Burlington, Vt.) and Vanessa Powers (Marshfield, Vt.) each added 10 for Castleton. Jaques also chipped in a game-high five assists, while back court mate Kelly Conway (Rutland, Vt.) pulled down a game-high nine boards.

Kellie Walsh (Londonderry, N.H.) dumped in a game-high 15 points for the Panthers, while Colleen O'Hara (Otego, N.Y.) added 10 points and a team-leading seven points, including four on the offensive glass.

Castleton limited Plymouth State to just 23.6% (17-for-72) shooting from the field, including a 3-for-26 performance from beyond the three-point stripe, but the Panthers countered with 20 offensive rebounds to keep the game within striking distance throughout.

Castleton dished out 15 assists on 25-for-61 (41%) shooting from the field, but struggled from the line, making just 10-of-20.

Leading 20-19 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Castleton reeled off the final eight points of the frame to take a nine-point advantage into the interval. Jaques canned a three to start the surge, and Leonard bookended a Meghan O'Sullivan (Merrick, N.Y.) jumper to finish it off.

The Spartans kept the lead at nine or above for the balance of the contest, pushing it to as many as 15 before settling in for the 13-point final.

Castleton improves to 3-0 and will break for Thanksgiving before returning to the road next Tuesday at Middlebury when the Spartans tip-off at 7 pm.

Plymouth State is also back in action next Tuesday when the Panthers travel to Colby-Sawyer for a 5:30 pm non-league contest.
