Rochester Forwards Key Victory at Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Rochester's size and strength proved to be a formidable obstacle for host Elmira College and the Yellowjackets defeated the Soaring Eagles, 80-36, on Tuesday night.

The Yellowjackets shot 54% from the floor for the game and outrebounded Elmira, 54-24. In the first half, Rochester hit 17 of 30 from the floor (57%). Elmira struggled to find an offensive flow, hitting 2 of 28 from the field in the opening half.  Rochester led, 36-7, at intermission.

Jodie Luther and Madeline Korber scored 15 points apiece. Loren Wagner added 14 points. Luther hit 7 of 10 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds in 16 minutes. Korber was 7 of 9 from the floor and added six rebounds in 14 minutes. Danielle McNabb grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists.

Jessica Zoltowski scored nine points for Elmira (0-4). Rochester is 4-0. The Yellowjackets are idle until the opening round of the Wendy's Collegiate Classic on November 29. Tournament pairings will be announced on Sunday night at the tournament banquet.
