The Chargers improve to 3-0, while Sage falls to 1-2.

DeSanty needed just 24 minutes to pour in a career-high 28 points. She was 9-18 from the floor and 6-8 from beyond the arc.  For her efforts, DeSanty was named tournament MVP. Sophomore Ashley Fruzzetti (Raynham, Mass.) was the only other Chargers to reach double figures with 10. Freshman Kelsey Bragdon (Wells, Maine) was named to the all-tournament team after an eight point, six rebound performance. Freshman Simone Songue (Yaoundel, Cameroon) and freshman Emma Lamson (Williamstown, Vt.) added four points and six rebounds each off the bench. Junior Cailin Bullett (Millbury, Mass.) also was named to the all-tournament team.

Senior Sarah Carciobolo (Niskayuna, N.Y.), who was named to the all-tournament team, poured in a team best 17 points and was 14-17 from the free throw line. Sophomore Chelsea Martin (Davenport, N.Y.) added 12 points and eight rebounds. Junior Carly Vallee (East Greenbush, N.Y.) also reached double figures with 11 points.

The Chargers jumped out to an 8-2 lead over the first four minutes of the game and never looked back.  Colby-Sawyer led by as much as 22 in the first in part by big advantages in points in the paint (12-2) and bench points (11-0). DeSanty scored 23 of her 28 points in the first half as the Chargers held a 45-26 lead at the break.

Sage came out in the second on a little spurt to cut the deficit to 12 over the first five minutes, but the Chargers responded over the next five minutes by taking their largest lead of the game of 29. Colby-Sawyer's bench outscored Sage's 24-4 in the second half. 12 different players scored for Colby-Sawyer for the second straight game.

Colby-Sawyer travels to Tufts on Tuesday for a 5:00 pm tip. The Gators play at Rensselaer on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
