It was the third consecutive slow start for the Titans (8-7/3-3 WIAC), who fell behind, 8-0. After four straight points by Thompson, UW-Oshkosh answered with nine of their own. Four different Titans notched a basket to put them in front, 9-8, at the 13:32 mark.

Thompson kept getting inside, dropping in three lay-ups and a jumper to gain a 29-22 cushion. Laura Ebbens (Sr. • Appleton) marked five points late in the half, while Michelle Boeder's (Sr. • Oshkosh) jumper cut the UW-Oshkosh deficit to 34-26 at the break.

In a span of less than four minutes, Thompson recorded three baskets with the foul. Those nine quick points expanded the Warhawk margin to 47-32. UW-Whitewater then achieved its largest lead of the contest (54-35) on Katie Burton's hoop with 9:49 remaining.

The Titans, who shot 28 percent in the second half, closed the game with a 15-6 scoring run. Shelby Churchill (Sr. • Sheboygan) accounted for four points before Kelsey Myklebust (Jr. • Wisconsin Dells) tacked on four more. A lay-up and three-pointer from Megan Wenig (So. • Oshkosh) in the final minutes created the outcome.

UW-Oshkosh's leader was Wenig with 16 points, as Boeder marked 10 points and three assists. Sarah Stecker (Fr. • Menasha) compiled seven points and three steals for the Titans, who connected on 6-of-15 three-point attempts (40 percent) and 11-of-14 foul shots (79 percent). Churchill and Myklebust each totaled six points and six rebounds.

Both teams committed the same number of turnovers (12), while the Warhawks obtained a 40-36 rebounding edge. UW-Whitewater finished with 40 percent accuracy from the field (23-57) and 22 percent marksmanship from downtown (2-9).
