BOSTON, MA - Wheelock College had 10 student-athletes across four winter and spring sports earn New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference laurels for the spring 2011 semester. With four women's basketball players earning recognition, the Wildcats were one short of the league leader.

Each of Wheelock's four women's basketball honorees had previously drawn an NECC academic accolade, with senior Caitlin Kerr (Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) and junior Kayla Drescher (Wallingford, CT/Mark T. Sheehan) being lauded on the hardwood for the second straight season. Sophomores Sarah McCaffrey (East Taunton, MA/Taunton) and Taylor Rogers (Essex, MA/Manchester Essex Regional) qualified for their first hoops honors after both being recognized last fall, McCaffrey for women's soccer and Rogers as a member of the field hockey team.

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, student-athletes must have posted a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.40 through the spring semester and be at least a sophomore. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's tennis and men's volleyball were eligible for the honor.
