DOVER, Del. - Wesley College jumped out to a 17-2 lead and never looked back, picking up a decisive 65-48 win over Frostburg State in the first round of the CAC Playoffs.

The Wolverines (15-11), who won for the eighth time in their last nine games, were powered by the senior trio of Angie Owens (Seaford, Del./Seaford), Cory Boyd (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) and Allison Beddia (New Castle, Del./Delcastle), who combined to score 44 points in the game.

After the big run to open the game, Wesley built up a 43-18 halftime lead.  While the Wolverines held the Bobcats to just 18 points on 8-of-32, the duo of Owens and Beddia tallied 25 points on 10-of-16, powering a 17-of-35 team mark at the break.

Frostburg State made a 13-3 run to open the second half, but a three by Rachelle Allen (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney), just her third triple of the year, stopped the bleeding and the Bobcats never got closer than 17 the rest of the way.

Owens had her fourth straight double-double, and sixth in the last seven games, with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 10 rebounds.  The forward also added two blocks and two steals.

Boyd turned in another stellar all-around effort with 14 points, six rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and a pair of steals.

Beddia gave Wesley three players in double figures with 13 points, including three threes.

In addition to Owens' 10 boards, Jazmine Miller (Dover, Del./Dover) added nine rebounds, while both Beddia and Heather Fuller (Greenwood, Del./Sussex Tech) had seven.  The Wolverines turned 17 offensive rebounds into 22 second chance points and held a 48-29 advantage on the glass.

Mindy Sharp paced the Bobcats with 16 points, eight rebounds and a pair of blocks.  Elaina Hummel added 15 points.

With the win, Wesley travels to top seeded Mary Washington for the semifinals.  The Eagles received a first round bye.
