Trinity Ends Baruch's Eight-Game Winning Streak

The women's basketball team (20-5) suffered a high-scoring 87-79 loss to Trinity College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night in Hartford, Connecticut.

Trinity (14-10), a member of the highly-respected New England Small Conference Athletic Conference (NESCAC), connected on 10-of-21 (48 percent) shots from 3-point range to end Baruch's eight-game winning streak.

Folashade Akinde(10 rebounds) and Monique Salmon(10 assists, seven rebounds) each scored 18 points for a double-double.

Camille Voitothad another solid effort with 16 points (4-6 3fg), while Karyn Purcellcame off the bench to contribute 12 points and three assists in 17 minutes of action.

Carly Napier led the home team Bantams with a game-high 22 points (5-9 3fg).

Baruch will return to action on Saturday, February 19th, with a CUNYAC home quarterfinal round playoff contest against CCNY. Tip off at home in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 1:00 pm.

TEAM NOTES: Baruch and Trinity were initially scheduled to play on February 1st, but the game was postponed by a snow/ice storm...In the latest NCAA Division III statistics, the women's basketball team is sixth in the country with an average of 73.3 points per game. Salmon continues in first place with 7.3 assists...The CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) will host their annual basketball awards luncheon on Thursday, February 17th, at 12:30 pm, at the Water Club in New York City.
