Dickman Leads Top-Ranked Thomas More to an 87-62 Win at Bethany

(BETHANY, W.Va.) - Senior center Nicole Dickman (Park Hills, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) led four Saints in double-figures with a game-high 22 points as the top-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team defeated Bethany College, 87-62, today (Saturday, February 12, 2011) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at Hummel Field House in Bethany, West Virginia.

With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 23-0 overall and 14-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Bison fall to 11-12 overall and 6-8 in the PAC.

Thomas More jumped out to a 13-5 lead with 15:42 to play in the first half when senior forward Amy Stultz (Amelia, Ohio/McNicholas) made a three-pointer.  Bethany's Renee Shepherd answered with a jumper at the 14:09 mark of the opening half to cut the lead to 13-7.  The Saints answered with a 6-0 run capped by a jumper by freshman forward Moriah Corey (Louisville, Ky./Butler) with 13:01 to play in the first half to extend the lead to 19-7.  The Bison responded with a 4-0 run to cut the lead to 19-11 when Skylar Williams made a jumper with 11:08 to play in the game.  The Saints closed out the first half on a 26-12 run to take a 45-23 lead at halftime.

The Saints opened the second half on a 35-22 run to increase the lead to 80-45 with 7:57 to play in the game when sophomore guard Chelsea Tolliver (Morning View, Ky./Simon Kenton) made a three-pointer.  Bethany closed out the game on a 17-7 run, but it wasn't enough as Thomas More won the game, 87-62.

Joining Dickman in double-figures were Tolliver with 18 points, Stultz with 13 points and sophomore guard Allison Long (Hebron, Ky./Conner) with 10 points.  Sophomore forward/center Katie Kees (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) led the team on the boards with a game-high 13 rebounds and in blocked shots with three, while Stultz led the team in assists with seven.

The Saints return to action on Wednesday (February 16) when they host Thiel College at 5:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
