INDIANOLA - Mindy Hutchcroft led five players in double figures and Simpson recovered from its first conference loss of the season with a 106-55 win over Central on Wednesday night.

Hutchcroft finished with 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting, as Simpson got back on track after its 16-game winning streak came to a close last Saturday against Coe.

Jamie Elbert, Amy Hamilton and Stacey Schutjer each added 12 for the Storm (18-4, 12-1 Iowa Conference). Kate Nielsen finished with 11 and Schutjer had a team-high seven rebounds.

Simpson shot nearly 53 percent from the field and pressured Central into 31 turnovers, which resulted in 45 points for the Storm.

Nicole Strasko finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Dutch (4-19, 1-13). Sarah Paulson added eight.

Thanks to Loras' 56-55 win over Coe on Wednesday, resulting in Coe's second conference loss of the season, Simpson finds itself alone atop the league standings with three games remaining. If the Storm win out, they earn the top-seed and home-court advantage throughout the conference tournament.

Simpson travels to Waverly for a 2 p.m. tipoff against Wartburg on Saturday. The Storm look to sweep the season series with the Knights (19-3, 10-3) after earning a 64-55 win Jan. 19 in Indianola.
