NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Cadets advanced to a 12-5 record on Wednesday night when they hosted their in-state opponents, the College of Saint Joseph (Vt.) in Andrews Hall. Norwich saw action from 15 of its' 17-player roster and pulled away with a 69-34 win.
Senior Christine Daniels netted 11 points and made 13 rebounds to keep her streak of double-doubles alive, while contributing four assists to her teammates. Sophomore Andrea Vogt finished the game with 12 points, having reached double-digit figures by the end of the first half. Vogt sank both attempted 3-pointers and was 5-of-10 in shooting.
Sophomore Kristine Brammer came off the bench to make eight points, shooting 3-of-4 inside the arc and making both free-throw attempts. She made one steal in the action and collected five boards.
Seniors Laurel McWilliams and Karissa Doyon collected six points apiece. McWilliams recorded nine rebounds, while Doyon and classmate Megan Gingras earned five assists each. Freshman Kristen Brown earned the team-high six assists, and made a steal and a basket on the Saints.
For St. Joseph (Vt.), the Saints saw shooting power from sophomore Brittany Garrow, who sank 12 points and made seven rebounds and three assists on the night. Freshman Brooke Griswold collected nine points, and the game-high three steals.
Sophomore Amanda Howard made nine boards and three assists, as freshman Jessica Sprofera also earned three assist and combined them with five rebounds. Freshman Grace Amato also contributed with a block, a steal and eight boards.
The Cadets will host Pine Manor College on Saturday at 3 p.m. for their next GNAC game. Tip-off will follow the men's action against conference-rival Mount Ida, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Andrews Hall.
