Western New England scores season high point total in 81-53 victory over Eastern Nazarene

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore center Elena Radzikowski (Medway, MA) scored 15 points and senior forward Kelly McCormick (Manchester, CT) added 12 points as the Western New England women's basketball team defeated Eastern Nazarene 81-53 Thursday night (Feb. 3) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Radzikowski connected on 7-of-11 field-goal attempts and pulled down five rebounds as the Golden Bears improved to 11-8 overall and 3-5 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The Lions fall to 3-17 and 1-7 in the conference.

Sophomore guard Emily Savino (Ellington, CT) and freshman guard Ali Pessolano (Hampden, MA) each added nine points while senior forward Kathleen Jasinski (Templeton, MA) contributed eight points.

Freshman guard Shaylyn Sicard (Westfield, MA) didn't score any points, but grabbed a team high six rebounds while handing out six assists.

Western New England led 40-27 at halftime and opened the second half with a 14-2 run to break the contest open.

Freshman forward Dianna Bonds (Marietta, GA) played the entire game and was outstanding with a double-double of 24 points (8-12 from the floor) and 12 rebounds for the Lions. She also compiled six steals.

Sophomore center Shardee Brown (Waterbury, CT) netted 12 points and had five rebounds.

Western New England shot 51.6% from the field (its second best effort of the year) in recording its highest scoring output of the season.
